An automatic gate is a moving system installed where vehicles and people share space. Choose the layout and safe access arrangement first, then specify the gate leaf, supports, drive, controls and protective devices as one installation.
The best quotation describes how the system works at your driveway: where the gate moves, where a pedestrian waits, what the driver can see and how access works during a fault or power cut. Metalwork appearance and motor brand are useful details, but neither establishes the safety or reliability of the complete system.

Choose swing or sliding from the driveway plan

Size the drive for the finished gate and its use
Request the motor and controller model numbers and the manufacturer’s selection basis. Gate weight is only one input: leaf length, geometry, wind exposure, friction and expected operating frequency also matter. A higher advertised kilogram rating alone does not prove that a drive is appropriate.
An existing manual gate should be assessed before automation. Check its supports, hinges or rollers, movement and condition, then design the drive and protective measures around the actual gate. Automation should not be used to force a stiff or damaged gate through its travel.

Read the equipment and service boundaries
Compare the same leaf design, drive arrangement, protective measures and controls before comparing totals. Require written explanations for exclusions such as civil work, electrical supply, network equipment, old-gate removal and decorative reinstatement.
