Choose the scope by the problem to solve

Compare retaining the layout, replacing the kitchen within broadly the same arrangement and relocating major functions. For each, identify what is kept, what is removed and what needs investigation. If existing dampness or a leak is present, diagnose it before enclosing the area with new cabinetry.

Test cooking and cleaning routes
Describe an ordinary meal from unloading groceries to storing leftovers and washing up. Mark the refrigerator, food storage, sink, preparation surface, hob and waste point. Include another person passing through and any children or family members using the room at the same time.

Create a schedule with the exact model, installation document, opening, utility requirements and replacement route for each built-in appliance. Record whether the model is confirmed or still an allowance. The cabinet maker should not manufacture around an image or a generic width.

Resolve water, drainage, power and extraction together
If moving the sink, compare the full proposed service route and reinstatement scope with keeping it. Ask the plumber what can be confirmed now and what depends on opening up. A new position should be justified by its functional benefit as well as its appearance.
For plumbing work, use the applicable PUB requirements and licensed scope. For electrical changes and appliance loads, appoint the appropriate Licensed Electrical Worker. A designer’s point layout does not replace those technical responsibilities.
Choose the intended hood mode with the supplier. Bosch distinguishes extraction and recirculation arrangements; the selected model and route need to match the plan. Agree any external discharge proposal and its relevant constraints before cabinetry is released.

Choose surfaces with their care routine attached
Review the worktop as a product and fabricated assembly: exact material, finish, joints, edges, cut-outs and support. Ask the fabricator to confirm what is suitable around the selected sink and hob. A category such as quartz or stone is too broad to determine every detail.

Compare the whole installation
Issue the same scope and selection schedule to each bidder. Ask for identified products and quantities, stated allowances and clear exclusions. Treat an unconfirmed model or concealed condition as an uncertainty to manage, not an invisible assumption.
Include demolition, protection, disposal, service work, substrate preparation, cabinets, worktop fabrication, fittings, appliance installation and making good where applicable. Plan the period without a working kitchen
