A fan position is more than a dot on the plan
Choose the fan model and have its installation requirements assessed before the ceiling contractor closes the area. The plan needs to resolve support, mounting arrangement, electrical supply and the space around the operating fan. A decorative ceiling drawing alone cannot establish those details.

Those are reasons to assign the interfaces explicitly, not evidence that every supplier includes the complete scope.

Check the room in section as well as plan
A fan can appear centred on a room plan but conflict with a beam, sloping ceiling or intended pendant. Include the finished ceiling height and the fan’s installed arrangement in the review. The relevant clearances come from the selected product and site conditions; do not reuse a number from a different model.
For bedrooms, consider tall wardrobes, bunk beds or other furniture that changes the usable space. For living rooms, coordinate the fan with lighting positions and seating. If moving blades would interrupt a proposed light path, ask the designer to review the arrangement and demonstrate the effect where practical.
A larger fan is not automatically the better fit. The installation requirements and room arrangement may make another model or another location more suitable. Let the installer resolve technical suitability rather than purchasing solely from a blade-span comparison.
Do not leave support until the installation visit
If the ceiling is already complete, ask the fan installer to assess what is known and what must be inspected. Do not assume there is suitable support because another fixture previously occupied the spot. Any necessary opening and making good should be agreed before booking a supposedly simple replacement.
If the installer finds the planned arrangement unsuitable, pause that installation and obtain a coordinated revision. Do not ask the ceiling contractor to improvise an attachment based only on the fan’s weight or appearance. Electrical modifications should be handled by the appropriate Licensed Electrical Worker.

Handover should retain the technical identity
Keep the model, installation manual, support record and installer contact. Have the installer demonstrate normal operation and explain what observations require service. A new unusual noise, movement or damage should be reported for assessment; this article is not a balancing or repair guide.
The result you want is a fan whose support and electrical work were planned as part of the ceiling package, with a clear route for future service.
