Landed Interior Design in Singapore: Buying Guide →Key takeaways
- Identify the document title, revision and date in the approval.
- State what is approved and what remains unresolved.
- A changed drawing should reach every affected trade before work proceeds.
Approve a named document
When a design changes through several chats and PDFs, “okay, proceed” can refer to different things for different people. Use a short written approval that names the drawing, revision and date, and identifies the work it releases.
For example: “Approved for the bedroom wardrobe layout shown on drawing W-02, revision C, dated [date]. Finish remains subject to the labelled physical sample. Fabrication is to use this revision after the hardware schedule is confirmed.” This is an illustrative communication format, not contract wording tailored to a dispute.
Separate approval from unresolved conditions
- Document: exact drawing or schedule title, revision and date.
- Scope: layout, finish, procurement or fabrication being approved.
- Conditions: the specific information still required and who resolves it.
- Superseded documents: the earlier version that is no longer current.
- Distribution: the person responsible for issuing the update to affected trades.
Check the downstream effect
A changed cabinet width may affect a worktop, appliance opening or light position. Ask the coordinator to identify the affected items before treating a revision as complete. Blum’s cabinet-planning resources connect geometry, fittings and manufacturing outputs; a visible layout change can therefore reach beyond the front elevation.
For a cost or time variation, use the agreed contract process as well as updating the drawing. CaseTrust’s renovation scheme requires written variations before the changed work. That is a scheme requirement, not a claim that every renovation contract has identical terms. Read and use the process in your own agreement.

Keep one current issue set
Store the approved drawings and schedules together, with older versions clearly marked. Ask the project coordinator to confirm the current issue before manufacture or irreversible site work. A clear record makes the decision reviewable; it does not replace the contractor’s technical verification or professional responsibilities.

- Cabinet Configurator
Blum · Checked
Hardware planning links cabinet geometry, front weight, fittings and collision checks; a brand name alone does not specify a cabinet assembly.
- CaseTrust accreditation for renovation businesses
CASE / CaseTrust · Checked
The accreditation scheme specifies clear work/payment schedules and written variations; scheme conditions are not asserted as universal terms for all renovation contracts.
